Week 5 of the Fall 2018 One Room Challenge has come to an end. Next Thursday is the big reveal and I can’t wait to share it with you. But first, a recap of what happened this week in our Boho Bedroom.

Here are links to the past 4 weeks posts if you need to catch up.

Week 1 I Week 2 I Week 3 I Week 4

If you remember last week my lamps came in. I ordered two pair because I couldn’t decide and now I’m so glad I did. Once I got them in the bedroom the blue lamp looked off next to the other finishes. Sometimes it's hard to tell what the true color will be from a photo.

I decided to use the beautiful Berkshire lamp below. I love how sleek and sexy this lamp is. The height is just right and the antique brass finish is perfection. The tall, narrow shade gives the lamp the right height and scale without looking bulky. That was a concern of mine while sourcing lamps because of how small the nightstands are.

The Berkshire 22” Table Lamp is available at both Joss & Main and Walmart.

I’m not going to give away too much because the big reveal is right around the corner. We finished setting up the room and photographed it this weekend.

The new floorplan with the bed on the adjacent wall is a much better layout. The room flows better and feels larger. And having the light fixture finally centered on the bed (or anything at all) is such a relief for my OCD.

Speaking of the light fixture, I assembled and installed it myself and lived to tell the tale. It looks incredible and changes the entire feel of the room. Anything is an improvement when you start off with a boob light. I love the strings of textured beads and it casts a beautiful shadow on the ceiling.

I ran around like a crazy person for two days shopping for finishing touches and artwork. I have bags of things that I ended up not using and I need to return. After a fruitless search we re-purposed a piece of art from the clients living room. It is a piece she loves and I like the way it pulls the room together. I also like that it helped us stay under budget.

I will be adding a post sharing my solution for hanging window treatments in an apartment without damaging the walls. I’ll add a link here once that is posted.
